Thought I'd create a thread for discussion of rules for Hands of Ether so we can clear up some things about how the game is played.
The question that prompted this thread was about deflect in the mages weave ability. It costs one action, but deflect says it can be used as a reaction. A reaction is defined as a type of free action.
Does that mean deflect in particular is a free action, or does it still require an action to be used?
Thanks a bunch!

Yeah I'd say it's definitely a free action. However, despite being a free action, it would still count toward your total daily uses of Weave.

I was reading through some spells and speculating.
What do you reckon would happen if your tether target moves somewhere, perhaps by a teleport?
Would you go with them? Would it fail? How would you handle this?

Ooooo! Good question! I'd say it would be up to the dm's discretion. If I was running a game and this came up I would have a teleport spell move both targets, but only if the caster had enough mana to essentially cast twice. Otherwise I'd have the spell just fail and the caster lose the mana. Just for the sake of flavor.

Oh snap, that's generally thought provoking. Well, I'm always looking for the chance to do an arcane anomaly, that's what theyre there for. I'd probably vote to let the caster do whatever they want, but have them roll anomaly for goofs. Magic is weird, and its easy to forget that in a sea of mechanics.
